While a Captain for FedEx, I co-founded Crew Training International, which grew to become the world's largest provider of teamwork and communication skills training for military flight squadrons — helping produce the greatest improvement in aircraft safety in U.S. Air Force history.
In 2005, a new challenge beckoned and I founded LifeWings Partners LLC, a team of pilots, astronauts, physicians, nurses, and Lean experts who helped over 200 health care organizations worldwide become high-reliability organizations, eliminating patient harm and driving out waste in patient care.
